Addy had her very first basketball game on Saturday. She did such a great job and had so much fun. It makes this mom a little sad, but I think she enjoyed it even more than softball! Oh well, in a few years she will realize softball is way better than basketball. (at least I hope she does!)
Her team name is the Wolverines which according to the E-man is a boy's team name. Obviously, he thinks of a Wolverine as a superhero, not an animal! ;) Since they are playing in the Upward League, they do not keep score...thank goodness because they got whooped! One of my 3rd grade students was on the other team and I told J the minute I saw her that the outcome was going to be ugly! She is an aggressive big girl and our team is made up of timid little girls! The good news is, Addy didn't seem to notice the uneven scoring of baskets. She had an absolute blast! And...she even got a steal! No baskets, but I think she will get a few over the course of the season.
As much as she enjoys playing, I think she is even more excited about being on the same team as her BFF, Claire. They get all giggly and silly when they are together. It gets a little annoying at times, but for the most part it's okay! I'm so glad she has such a good friend right across the street.
